Along with the trailer for the second half of the sophom*ore season, MGM+ officially announced the show will return on June 2, 2024 (via Collider). This recent development means that fans will have to wait a little longer for the fate of season 3 to be decided, and MGM+ will likely withhold any decision until the current season concludes.

There haven’t been any Billy the Kid season 3 cast announcements yet. However, since he’s playing the titular character, it’s almost a guarantee that Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Benediction) will return to play Billy the Kid.

Of the main cast, the least certainty is around Eileen O’Higgins (Brooklyn, Mary Queen of Scots) as Kathleen McCarty. After being a main cast member in season 1, McCarty only shows up sporadically in season 2, making O’Higgins’ place on the Billy the Kid season 3 cast not a guarantee. Daniel Webber (The Dirt, 11.22.63) as Jesse Evans and Alex Roe (The Fugitives, The Cut) as Pat Garrett are both expected to return, given their proximity to Billy’s story.
